SonAlt Arts Organization seeks scores for string quartet and string quartet with fixed media for the 2026 SonAlt Call for Scores. 

The winning works will be performed on July 25 2026 by the Ecuadorian string quartet Las Cuerdas de la Muerte in Quito, Ecuador at the SonAlt Music Festival. The submission deadline is March 1, 2026 at 11:59 pm EST. Results will be announced in April 2026. 

Eligibility Requirements:

• This call is open to all composers ages 18 and up. 

• Composers may submit to either the String Quartet Category or String Quartet + Fixed Media Category.
  Limit one submission per composer. Submissions with fixed media must be in stereo.

• Duration: no longer than 8 minutes.

• Works must utilize the entire string quartet. 

• Works must have been composed within the last 10 years.

• Scores must be anonymous and submitted as a PDF.

• Audio recordings must be anonymous. Live recordings or MIDI renders will be accepted.

• Works may have been previously performed.

• We will not accept submissions via email.
